I loved the simple sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch this week but I also wanted to go over & join the fun in the Snippet Playground. With this card I've managed to do both, and as it's a birthday card I'll enter it into the challenge over at CASology, too, where the cue card is "Birthday".
The snippet of paper has been in my stash for ages, I'm not sure of the maker. You can't see it in the photo but I added a touch of Wink of Stella sparkle to some of the stripes. The chipboard flowers have also been in my stash for years; I painted them with a couple of coats of gesso then once that had dried, coloured them with Mulberry Promarker. I found some Crackle Accents and decided to see what that looked like, so here's a close-up:
To be honest the flowers didn't turn out as I'd imagined at all but I really quite like them - I think they look a bit weird in the photo but trust me, they look much better in real life!
The greeting by Clearly Besotted was stamped in Memento Lulu Lavender, and the Happy Birthday was given the Wink of Stella treatment, too.

Butterflies
This card is based on the sketch at the Clean & Simple challenge 297, but by a happy accident I've just discovered that it also qualifies me for this week's LIM challenge which is to use something recycled. Possibly not CAS enough for LIM, though!
The backing paper is from my stash. The butterflies are cut from the reverse side of some of my previous stamping mistakes! That's the first bit of recycling. The butteflies were stamped then coloured in Promarker to match the backing paper. The white sections have had Anita's Clear Gloss applied to add a bit more dimension, and the largest butterfly has had clear Wink of Stella applied although the photos don't show it.
The greeting is also stamped, and the second bit of recycling is the ribbon, cut from the inside of a blouse and coloured with the same Promarker.
Backing Paper: K-Ology Addison by K & Company
Butterflies: Sizzix/Hero Arts Framelits
Cardstock: Limetree Crafts
Ink: Memento Paris Dusk
Promarker: Pear Green
Greeting: Papertrey Ink

Christmas Catch-up Part 2
This was our son's Christmas card this year. As an avid guitarist the phrase "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" seemed most appropriate. I was going to cut out the tree & guitar on my new Eclips but ended up doing it by hand (long story!). I got the tree from here then paper-pieced it. The guitar was stamped in Adirondack Red Pepper then glittered with my Wink of Stella clear pen & the rest was done in Craft Artist 2 Professional:

Snowflakes
This card combines several challenges into one. This week at Less is More the challenge is to use a metallic element & one other colour; at CASology the theme is snowflake; and I really liked the current sketch at Sketch Saturday, although I haven't stuck to it exactly.
The ribbon has been languishing in my stash for several years now and as it fitted the first two challenges perfectly (it has a metallic edge, is pale blue although that's not easy to see in the pictures & is decorated with metallic snowflakes) I decided it was about time I used it! The snowflake is a Cuttlebug die, embossed with a matching embossing folder, coloured with Pastel Blue Promarker & then glittered using my new Clear Wink of Stella brush which got its first outing.
